While I agree the drop rate needs to be increased slightly the idea of these armor pieces in a high-end installment is that you have to work/grind to get them....a lot.
Firstly to adhere to the rule an item is more attractive and rewarding if it's hard to get secondly so every second character is'nt running around with a blindfold on.
I have no issues if it takes me a few months to get such an item, it's the only one I want in EotN as it will suit the theme of my character and I'll be stoked when I finally get it, far more so than if it took me a few days.
I think many people are just to impatient and want every special armor item the day after release when these were intended to be long term goals and rewards not something you can get in a week.
This quote from another thread sums it up perfectly:

As I understand your point, There is a difference between impatience and frustration. As I stated before .. I have done 50 complete runs of the cathedral, if it moved; I killed it, if it was a red dot; I killed it and not 1 single relic or chalice was droped.
It just seems a bit hippocritical to me of Anet and playNC to nerf farming, frown apon it and even go to the extend of banning people for it then go and create things like title specific crafters and items that for example require 100 glacial stones to craft, I've taken 5 chars through GWEN completely and only found 20 stones. Lets not mention the Treasure Map pieces which are completely random. Lets just face it ... GWEN is just some big farm fest used to fill in the gap and buy time till GW 2 is released, in which we will be needing more items from GWEN.

Superb point and I agree on the blatant contradiction there.

I see more people running about with 75 ecto chaos gloves and 250 core destroyer gauntlets than I do blindfolds or dread masks.
Something is amiss here...

Gemstones in torment were a challenge, strong mobs with decent drop rate.
Here we have weak mobs (really weak when you think you can do 100 to 300dmg each hit) and horrible drop rate.
At least they could add one of these in the dungeon chest as a third drop.

So.... About these drops being higher in HM...? What's the status? Has anyone seen better drops doing HM runs rather than normal?

Hi everyone , I usually farm Murakai everyday like 3 times a day. I do this since two weeks ago , wich means a not bad number of runs in this dungeon.
Everything I can say is that I have 15 Diessa Chalices and 5 of them are gifts from friends. I do this Dugeon with H/H but eaven knowing that I really think it's rare that I NEVER had a Relic drop, this is like a joke man, I really hope Anet repair this shit.... I'll never get my mask if this continues like now...

Are they affected by loot scaling?
If not, you may be able to 2 or 3 man them..

That's a question I'm interested in as well... I've found CoF one of the most efficient dungeons to run through with the builds I have, so I'm there at least two times a day. But since the week EotN was launched, I've only found one rin relic and maybe 20 chalices. I'd certainly not want to have a complete set within a week or two, but at this rate.... eep.

I have done little else then farm this dungeon since I finished EotN (a few days after release)
Haven't counted how many times I've run the dungeon, but to give you a general idea:
- I have all the greens (several more then once)
- I have bought 2 elite armors with the money made from this dungeon (only drops and merch fodder)
I now have 4 diessa chalices and 0 rin relics.
This is really getting rediculous...

Yesterday night, I friend and me got 3 chalices in a run for each other.
Maybe it is just a luck issue.

The drop rate imo has increased in hm. Currently I run a 3 man build 2 monks and a ranger.... If you dont know what it is i dont know what to tell you. We can easily get to the 3rd lvl but can not kill the boss. On average we get 4-5 rin relics a run that we sell and split the money 3 ways(if i am not running it with heros) Challices are a joke though. I see more of those drop in Nm then i have in Hm. I am always up for teaching people my farms and if you want to come with sometime just message me in game.

bah was also my idea to do 3 man cathedral, in NM i have to say it was worse than HM due to lack of dmg taken (pre-nerf conjure didn't trigger spirit bond ;/), now it's like walk in the park, including murakai (without wipes and with human party, killing only what's needed to be killed) it's ~1h in HM, with border kills it'll be around 1:30 (i belive even less, done with henchies boss only + few other groups on lvl3 in 1:15, few wipes on the way due to me chatting too much).
I have never yet encountered any of these two items though... and i mean never as i've done it several times. I do agree with statement it's about prestige, but i consider people being more amazed about easy to grind destro gloves or chaos gloves than actually quite rare blindfolds. Might be just me and i don't want to offend anyone, i really appreciate effort put to getting these and a bit jealous of course ^^ (me is lazy!), but still ... kinda weird with such a never dropping item

fix this absurd drop rate!! the price is 20k-35k for a rin relic now! if you can find a seller!!
im not really into paying 650k for a headpiece.
what happened to this accessible to all concept?
Yes im farming there in HM now and i have acquired 4 chalices which totals 8k.
well i can buy a 3rd of a relic for that! ty from a player who is losing intrest

I actually have the blindfold now. After 4- runs though cathedral with different characters I had all of one Diessa chalices. So i bit the bullet and bought them...
Damn even buying them was a grind but it was quicker (got lucky with a fella who sold me 20).
